I am 1 of the few who thinks that the opening is perfect and fits the electric current arc. I empathise this opening is a lot different than before and a lot of *anime watchers* think that information technology doesnt match the theme of aot.. merely as we go along the episode you'd understand. I hateful I read the manga and know what's gotta happen. I know lots of people say that they've as well read the manga but all the same hate this opening.
This arc is full of flashbacks of piffling levi, historia, erwin and eren what do you expect to see in the opening? Well, at that place'south gotta exist activeness scenes merely this arc mainly focuses on their backstories and how they've become the person they are at present. This isn't about fighting titans. This is nigh politics, the truth and human vs human fights.
Remember what happened to little innocent Erwin with his father? How his father died because of what he said… and so we have picayune levi, one step closer to the death'due south door, lost his mom… he might have accustomed past then that no 1 cared for them merely then, Kenny came along. He fed and raised him for a while. He tried his best to gain acknowledgement from Kenny who he thought was his male parent.. but eventually likewise left him all lonely. Then we finally have Eren recalling some of his memories of how he became a titan shifter; eating his father to salvage humanity. I mean, how sorry information technology is that he was given such a heavy burden. He'due south just a child :( Eren fifty-fifty wants to cede himself twice or thrice during the uprising arc. He wanted Historia to swallow him or even Rod reiss when he became a titan. He's simply really in a hurry to die.

I remember that in this arc, we would start to see how Eren'due south transition little past petty. Both physically and mentally… because he would begin to empathize his purpose and how he wanted to seek for freedom. That's how I felt when I read the manga before. And I felt it in the animation with younger Eren bumping into the older Eren. I interpreted it as the younger Eren, not recognising his future self considering of how unlike he had go. Older Eren doesn't fifty-fifty respond to his younger self. He just accustomed that the past doesn't matter anymore and that he has to keep moving forwards. That the innocence is never coming back and that the war take changed them all into someone else. That there are things in life you lot could never get back to no matter how much you lot wanted. They demand to look at the bigger moving-picture show at present. And that's when Eren started to lose himself as time passed past….
Only look how adorable they are…

I don't know this opening just made me really emotional specially considering the blitheness focused more on the trio and the fact that I've merely read the concluding chapter of snk. It just gave me feels. At that place are so much foreshadowing on this opening that anime watchers wouldn't sympathise. Sorry. Even the 4 warriors are at that place :(
If yous don't get what I hateful even after reading the manga, I call back that you didn't really connect with the characters as much as I did :(
