A packet gets delivered to your neighbour, do you become take it and leave or ring their bell and let them know?

Then I got a notification that a package was delivered, only nothing was there. I looked at the pic the delivery person took and it'southward my neighbour'southward house.

Should I just go get information technology and leave, or ring the bell and permit them know what I'm doing?

A package was wrongly delivered to me and I dropped it off at my neighbors a few houses down across the street so kind of the opposite. They don't know me and then they didn't answer. How are your feelings on neighbor chit-chat? I feel like if y'all knock on the door to let them know, then there's a certain amount of chit-chat that would be expected.
