Should I just go get information technology and leave, or ring the bell and permit them know what I'm doing?

Should I simply go go it and leave, or ring the bell and let them know what I'm doing?

Do you know them? We take cell numbers of our neighbors, nosotros would likely but send them a text. We've had a Uber Commuter deliver food to us accidently that was supposed to go to our neighbor, nosotros but texted them subsequently went sent them over.

If you're worried about it, exit a mail-it.

"Hey, merely wanted to let you know that they delivered my parcel to your address by accident, so I grabbed it. Thank you!"

Y'all're going on their property, I'd at least let them know. People become touchy about that.

Yeah I gauge I'd knock. If no one is domicile yeah just grab it.

A package was wrongly delivered to me and I dropped it off at my neighbors a few houses down across the street so kind of the opposite. They don't know me and then they didn't answer. As I walked away I heard the door open and they grabbed it. They probably idea I stole it or something just whatevs.

press the doorbell - someone volition answer and just tell them

How are your feelings on neighbor chit-chat? I feel like if y'all knock on the door to let them know, then there's a certain amount of chit-chat that would be expected.

I guess only prepare a couple lines beforehand. "Information technology'due south pretty dainty weather condition today." "This coronavirus is crazy, isn't information technology." Stuff like that. Be very careful about accidentally committing to some kind of upshot. If you kickoff straying from weather condition topics, then you're inbound dangerous territory where the inevitable dinner invitation gets thrown out there. And so yous're fucked, because you have to have, or else yous'll look similar an asshole.

Exist careful, OP.

I would call them and permit them know what happened, and that I'm on the way over to grab the bundle.

I live in a high trust neighborhood, though. Not everyone has proficient neighbors... my mother-in-law recently had her food delivered to the wrong business firm correct next door, and the person just kept and ate information technology.

If they've got a porch camera/doorbell camera, I'd hold the packing slip up to the camera, indicate to my house, and walk off. Or if their blinds are open and I see someone in there, I'll knock on the door and let them know.

If the blinds are closed and they have no camera, I'm grabbing it and going back dwelling house.
